Amazing experiences!

Most people do not like Mondays. It's the end of the weekend, back to work, back to school. The highlights usually being Monday night football. For me, the first Monday of 2015 was amazing. Why? Please, allow me
to enlighten you as to what made my Monday so eventful.

Being an author I find myself attracted to the arts community, and anyone from Denver or has spent a significant amount of time here knows that Santa Fe Dr is considered the arts district. Art galleries and photo studios engulf the atmosphere. Creativity is abundant in the air. It's a place where one can enjoy the sights, sounds and artistic environment.

While taking a walk down Santa Fe Dr, I happened to come across an art gallery/yoga studio named Inspire Life.                                         https://www.facebook.com/inspirelifestudio
Maybe it was the name, maybe it was just the sign on the door, but Something about this place called me. Feeling a bit tense from day to day activities, in need of a bit of peace and tranquility, I strolled in to take a look around. Once inside I was warmly greeted by one of the owners, Anthony Bradley, then introduced to his partner Taraz. Immediately, I felt at home. They embraced me like one of the family.

Inside I found some of the most amazing works of art created by mostly locals.

After being given the grand tour, they invited me for lunch, which was amazing as well.

One of their services is Yoga instruction. Over the years I've toyed with Yoga. Watched a few videos, read a few books, did a few stretches but never really got deep into it. Luckily, I was given a real treat; aerial yoga training. When watching videos on YouTube or seeing this technique done it looks easy, well trust me, it is not. It is, however, fun, uplifting, and good exercise. The basics were hard at first, but I started to get the swing of it. (No Pun intended).

Time flew as i was there and by 3 pm it began to feel like it was time to go. To my surprise, Anthony invited me to a potluck and movie later that evening. Again, a wonderful experience. Everyone brought a delightful dish, we watched some great film and enjoyed some Taraz Teas.

For anyone looking for a place to learn Yoga, meditation, I highly recommend Inspire Life Studio. Should you just want to heighten your skills, again this is a highly recommended place. Good music, good company and understanding make this one of my new favorite local establishments.

Please give their page a like on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/inspirelifestudio or stop in and visit: 938 W 8th Ave, Denver, Colorado 80204

The Pomegranate - khalil Gibran (Quote)

Literature has always played a major part of my life. As a child my mother would bring home stacks of books from her job, a good start for a 5 year old child. I would read everything as a child. Sydney Sheldon, Bevery Cleary and even more advanced material like Khalil Gibran.
Although today my library mainly consists of empowering reading such as Napoleon HillStephen R. Covey and my personal favorite Mark Hamilton. The following excerpt from The Madman by Khalil Gibran  has been one of my favorites since kindergarten. The way he uses parables and metaphors has always amazed me. I hope his poetry intrigues you as much as it intrigues me. Here is The Pomegranate, enjoy!

THE POMEGRANATE
Once when I was living in the heart of a pomegranate, I heard a seed saying, “Someday I shall become a tree, and the wind will sing in my branches, and the sun will dance on my leaves, and I shall be strong and beautiful through all the seasons.” Then another seed spoke and said, “When I was as young as you, I too held such views; but now that I can weigh and measure things, I see that my hopes were vain.” And a third seed spoke also, “I see in us nothing that promises so great a future.” And a fourth said, “But what a mockery our life would be, without a greater future!” Said a fifth, “Why dispute what we shall be, when we know not even what we are.” But a sixth replied, “Whatever we are, that we shall continue to be.” And a seventh said, “I have such a clear idea how everything will be, but I cannot put it into words.” Then an eighth spoke – -and a ninth — and a tenth — and then many — until all were speaking, and I could distinguish nothing for the many voices. And so I moved that very day into the heart of a quince, where the seeds are few and almost silent.

Forward Movement...

Forward movement is imperative to success in any area of life.

In order to succeed we must learn to give up past events which may have emotionally crippled us at one point in time. In order to truly live the lives we are meant to live we must first forgive ourselves and others as well. Life is too short. The past is the past for a reason.

It is said that whatever does not kill us makes us stronger. True, LEARN from mistakes of the past and use that knowledge as a stepping stone. Once we grasp this concept we can truly say that we are growing.

Love is key. Love your brother, sister, father, mother, friends and neighbors. Do so honestly, and see the rewards you shall gain.
